WASTING MY TIME (F. ROGER / D. GHENACIA RMXS)
12 Inch 13.10.11
produced by close friend black coffee, the original mix provides a suitably deep and meaningful platform for bantwinis heartfelt lyrics about phony relationships and, in turn, his soulfully immaculate delivery. lush afro-edged rhythms lead into smart bursts of trumpet, cool double bass-lines and stirring rhodes solos - a rich musical weave more than amplifying bantwinis performance.
a wealth of stylish remixes skilfully widens wasting my times dancefloor appeal. gallic house sophisticate rocco ups the tempo, cracking whip-smart beats against thumping kick drums and infectious metallic key stabs, as does paris kingpin dan ghenacia, thanks to a fiesty vocal remix and dub fusing gothic mood and jack-happy sass in fine style. ghenacias versions have already, in fact, become a thunderous week-in-week-out staple of his ibizan circo loco residency at dc10 this summer. elsewhere, real tone main man franck roger offers a neat, dubby riff on black coffees original production, injecting sweet balafon melodies and additional percussive pep.
early dj supports and feedbacks by loco dice, tony humphries ame, osunlade, dyed soundorom, d julz, sascha dive, reboot, shonky, quentin harris, jef k, kate simko, miss jools, dj t., dj spinna, seuil, ralf kollmann, jellybean benitez, willie graff, lee foss, nick curly, le loup, sascha dive, and.id, melon, ian friday, matthew styles, laurent garnier, rocco, dj yellow, tedd patterson, robert dietz, dani casarano, magda, anthony collins, konrad black ...

after a series of classically oriented 12 inches with deep debts owed to old school detroit and chicago vibes, remain & mlle caros release stands out as a thoroughly modern model of analog dancefloor ammunition. while >heat< and >rogue< dispense with homage and go for the jugular with darkside intensity, the remixes hand chosen by remain and caro open things up, revealing undiscovered dimensions to the music. holmar filipsson from thugfucker (life & death records) teams up with neurotic drum bands ulysses to transform >heat< into a mid-tempo disco chugger heavy on the drums and boogie bass. populette unleash a late night dancefloor bomb complete with hypnotic arpeggios for their corking refix of >rogue<.

WE STAY TOGETHER (2X12)
2x12 Inch 10.10.11
recorded in the immediate aftermath of his last ep >passed me by<, this new doublepack from andy stott features six new productions that are more desolate and exposed than anything on its predecessor. the opening >submission< tumbles into being with layers of washed-out digital revolutions, creating an artificial landscape thats quite at odds with the analogue machinations that follow - yet somehow rendering the alienated feel of this material perfectly. >posers< nudges its way into being abruptly and embeds another squashed funk variant thas all low-lit neon and growling textures, awkwardly shuffling into a more robust 4/4 template suffused with sparkling percussion and disembodied vocals. >bad wires< is the centrepiece of the ep, a relentless percussive cluster*ck that belies its slow tempo with a fearless rhythmic attitude. its as immersive and narcotic as anything ever produced by stott - peeling away one layer after another with each repeated listen. >we stay together< (part one) was the first track written for the ep and offers a more spacious narrative and a more sparkling, hazy palette - culminating in a beautifully frayed central hook thats somehow in keeping with the vhs aesthetic of both jamal moss and ferris bueller. >cherry eye< tumbles deep into a darkened hole before ep closer >cracked< turns up, fuelled by an odd mixture of adrenalin and sorrow to send you on your way.... buzzing and forlorn

PITCHBLACK EP
12 Inch 03.10.11
nice price deal !!! the 8th release on mindtrick records will be by the greek producer and sound engineer mobthrow. mobthrow just released his full length self titled debut album on adnoiseam and is now ready for his first 12inch release which will come out on the 5th of september. the 12inch brings a somewhat deeper feeling to the sound of mobthrow which is starting out with pitchblack on the a side. the 2nd track is flashback and is based in rewind mirror techniques (intro sample remains the same if you rewind it). heavy beats at 140 bpm. it is a story between dreams and reality, as the storyteller (mulholand drive sample) describes.
enter dubcore sets the tempo a little bit higher, balancing between dubstep/dnb. techy production approach (808.909 & tb303 used), born to spin in underground clubs at rush hour. also on the b side you will find a remix of pitch black which is made by german sound designer and composer hecq which kranks up the sound completely and make you slit your own wrists while listening to it!
overall this record is an excellent prove that dark sounding music can be very danceable!

DISCO NOT DISCO (2X12LP)
2x12 Inch 26.09.11
the strut label returns with a brand new vinyl edition of one of the imprints most in-demand series, disco not disco, exploring original anthems and rarities from the world of reactionary 1970s post-punk and leftfield disco.
with the original two compilations released at the turn of the decade as a new wave of bands like the rapture and lcd soundsystem drew on the musics influence, disco not disco has since been adopted in its own right as a term to describe a whole genre. the compilation is more timely than ever in 2011 as a reference point for a burgeoning mainstream scene.
the new edition moves from new york classics by konk and bill laswells material to early detroit machine music, belgian new beat and a healthy dose of uk originals from shriekback, quando quango and more on seminal labels like y and factory. watch out too for rare gems from unexpected sources including japanese electronic pioneers yellow magic orchestra and 70s prog collective isotope.
disco not disco is packaged in a deluxe 2lp gatefold with featuring sleeve notes by bill brewster, author of >last night a dj saved my life<, extensive track by track notes and rare photos.

KAPITEL ZWEI (2LP)

kapitel 2, and once everything is new! the collaboration of talented young producers and skilled heroes of the scene provides a colorful picture of the current sound development of the label in 2011. between tempo throttled, acid infected dancefloorkillers of l kubic and old school groove monsters of tokra thaan in a remix of james flavour up to grinding minimal beats with hypnotic-flashing sounds of trockensaft, to chameleon tracks from swen weber, which welcomes you with a dancehall impregnated beat in a 4/4 beat corset, which is ironed in the course of its construction and stay suddenly like a stomping and snorting steam train in the ear canal. and if then hardy hard mates early nineties rave influences with house vocals and flat-fuzz comes with a ghostly- kicking sampletrack around the corner which is just as hip hop as electro, it is clear, that these pieces are absolute killers of their guild, from the first to the last track, and each of them is conspicuous by its own distinctive aesthetic. originality is all

WORLD UNKNOWN 1
12 Inch 13.07.11
the first world unknown 12 inch kicks off with a slamming piece of prototype house from glasgows naum gabo aka jonnie wilkes from optimo and his production partner james savage. showing that a relatively low pace doesnt mean any drop in energy levels and dancefloor pump power, whop! cracks along like something from an alternate reality version of 1980s chicago. its as easy to imagine it rocking the house at medusas or the box as it is to envision it in the present day soundtracking some kind of bizarro fetish party or a particularly intense session at berghains lab-oratory. this is jacking in the true sense of the word. on the flip side italian born berlin resident franz underwear ups the tempo with a stunning piece of slamming european musclebeat. shades of ibiza 88-89 pervade here, the kind of pumping, chunky synth action, teutonic vocal exhortations and vaguely menacing but ultimately benign vibe that sent thousands of potty european kids totally round the bend and changed the world of dance music forever.

if you were to cut neville watson he would bleed acid house, he would also quite likely knock you flat on your arse for having the temerity to wave a knife at him, but thats a whole other story. for his first wu contribution he ventures down the ethereal proto-house boulevard. jacking 707 patterns, a bouncing juno bassline and outer-space synth lines take you into the upper atmosphere for a glorious airborne joyride. as ever, neville manages to evoke those 85-89 feelings without ever sounding merely retro or like some kind of pastiche, something that many attempt but very few manage to pull off. over on side u apiento, the force behind the magisterially brilliant testpressing website, chips in with a heartfelt homage to the new beat sound. another testimony to the fact that a lower tempo doesnt have to mean diminished energy levels, the orange place simply oozes class from top to bottom. like some lost ancienne belgique classic it pounds and pumps along, building up the tension all the while until the quasi- eastern refrain lets loose half way thru and all of a sudden a mystic portal opens up in the space-time continuum that leads all the way to southwark street in late 87.

we present you the newly born imprint outernational recordings. the kick off for this unique vinyl series is by basque county native kastil who sets the right tone with three wonderful disco edits at a mid-tempo / slomo pace. since uploading these tracks to his soundcloud page, the feedback has been enormous. side a contains the long, slow and loopy back to philadelphia, where kastil cleverly plays with the vocals and delay and creates a highly tense build up. theres no doubt that some large players in the very popular disco edit culture will play this one out. on the b1 side you find the track smd. a track which received great feedback by some key figures on soundcloud. this track is the ultimate pre-lude for the summer. fortunately, this is being released just early enough to enjoy this during the european and northern american summer. with again beautiful vocals floating through the track, this track definitely reminds one of a hot day in the local park. the b2 track is called rolls royce. perfect as the last track of this release since its a long edit which ends with a very atmospheric piano solo that keeps on floating through the last few minutes of the track. all and all, these edits will definitely make some heads turn after the date of release. supported by: cosmic boogie, dicky trisco, the legendary 1979 orchestra, sleazy beats recordings, ben la desh, 78 edits, osvaldo wilson, mannmademusic, gitchell moore

cisco cisco reappears on the spanish label apersonal music with more nudisco quality from the portuguese duo. 2 original tracks, higher the perfect weapon for the techydisco lovers and brothers in arms freshing up the release with an enchanting laid-down groove. a solid offer that reaffirms the promising relationship between this rising artist and apersonal, under which they debuted last year. apersonal always has excellent offers on the remix department. so its no surprise to see names as greg wilson on their catalog, a producer regarded as one of the most important figures on the uk dance scene. remixing higher he gives a different edge and tempo to the ep, with a faster version for the higher times.

DOPE MENACE EP
12 Inch 16.06.11
this is a special release to us at days of being wild, firstly because it s the return of catalepsia and he s in a mighty form, secondly because we felt very privileged to have artists of the calibre of sean and don getting involved and lastly the quality of the remixes they delivered left us speechless! so dope menace is an energetic dance floor stomper, centred around a very heavy beat and is indeed quite a menacing affair. built around a hellish, relentless string riff, the track is a dramatic, cinematic, dark mid tempo house number that could induces as much fancy foot work as it would head banging. jerome bazzanella, the man behind catalepsia has been releasing techno / house records for the last 3 years on various labels and compilations (synewave, remute, métis recoordings...) he likes to keep the tempo roughly between 110/120 bpm, favouring a heavy, efficient sound, with subtle sound effects and movements, in the tradition of the records from chicago and detroit.

WE DONT HAVE MUCH TIME (NEVILLE WATSON REMIX)
12 Inch 15.06.11
nice price deal !!! following on from her acclaimed debut last year on jansen jardin, yuki suzuki and producer, max essa, return with another slab of far east magic entitled >we don?t have much time<. combining yukis sultry vocal with a very muscular, bass heavy groove, the track comes across like some pitched down (way down!) early 90s nyc garage classic. big, rolling drums push the track along while some glorious strings and piano make sure, as usual, jansen jardin have something for your mind, your body and your soul. on the flipside neville watson delivers one of his finest productions to date. pushing the tempo up and dubbing things out he provides a brilliant reworking which is already causing a fuss from tokyo to berlin. moody, emotional dance music for late nights and early mornings. one limited pressing - as before - first come, first served

DEBUKAS 001
12 Inch 31.05.11
his debut four track ep highlights his individual approach to song writing with the gorgeous, deep and moody >i am machinery<, a fitting title for a track where the human voice integrates seamlessly into the analogue electronics of the machines. >pointers changes the mood and aims at the dancefloor, with strings and synths fully indebted to detroit techno, but with a constant human touch from his jazzy scat cutting in and out of the heavy groove. >some days< has the biggest sound on the ep with multiple vocal tracks layering over the crisp drums and pulsating synths. hes combined his keen ear for melody and a firm grasp of the dancefloor for this track, making it many djs favourite on the ep due to a club friendly structure, yet striking originality. >set myself on fire< closes the ep at a mellow tempo, and can easily hypnotise the listener with its repetitive vocals, haunting whistles and sleazy beats. this is only for the beginning for debukas, these four tracks are just an introduction to one of the finest talents from the uk electronic underground

the lp offers a different flavor, continuing this celestial, heart-felt journey miles away on a foggy day. but don t get too morose as there is hope in the upbeat, breaks-driven last sunbeam. the tempo continues to build in everywhere i go before launching into the techy sounds of the heavily vocoded computer love. mc fava lends his talents on a plethora of tracks, including addicted and the title track, stay forever.

yam who?s ism label come through with a four track slice of disco centric futurism, featuring the man yam himself alongside pbr streetgang and ron basejam. its the latter who takes the lead with a remix of alenas >changes< that sees her sultry vocal teased by a most excellent of analogue synth leads that splurges brilliantly across the crisp mid tempo chug. yam who? teams up with vocalist natasha watts for the similarly bottom heavy bump of >i m in love< which has a certain warehouse appeal to it. on the flip, pbr pay respect to the godfather of soul james brown with the gritty flex of >j2thab< with the sadly departed mr brown strangely sounding at times like he wants to go to tesco. we always took him for a waitrose man, but regardless this is probably the track you will reach for most! finally brothers young do their thing to a trammps classic, with little more than the bassline retained.

SUE IS BLUE (PHILIPP WOLGAST REMIX)
12 Inch 23.05.11
go disco! a call to all who fall in love with the song >sue is blue<. everything is focused on the slow, but swinging groove, including individual flashing fragments of the 20s. a dirty house music base drum pushes this track towards the dancefloor. the piece >offshore< takes you on a journey with its epic, modest and balanced mood, which turns out to be a dancefloor sensation. >teheran traffic< is speeding up the tempo. the b-side is determined by a powerful sound. just as the >far from here edit< by philipp wolgast works well in the club.

WISDOM TRAXX EP
12 Inch 13.05.11
after releasing some highly acclaimed records on delsin tel aviv-based yoav b. releases three new tracks on the belgian meakusma label. gently rubbing shoulders with detroit techno (the way anthony shakir produces it) and hiphop, built on crazy loops and raw rhythms, the tracks are enhanced with psychedelic and playful sounds, that give them the feeling of being in continuous flux and movement. the mood here is absorbing yet ambivalent. on top of this, protect-u, from the fantastic future times camp, delivers a remix, pulling the music away from reality, firmly aiming it for the universe. with a mid-tempo house feeling, a crispy bassline and abstract synthesizer pattern, they take the listener beyond the infinite.

LASER TAG / DONS DEMO (7 INCH)
7 Inch 11.05.11
proving they cant be pigeon holed into any one particular niche, midnight lab band returns with a 7-inch release inspired by 80s drum machines and provocative synthesized chops. >laser tag< is a high powered infusion of dark disco soundscapes, a thumping yet nostalgic vision of dance music through the lens of mlb. on >dons demo<, the lab dives into the family archives to resurrect and refashion an obscure yet timely recording from don stark. channeling earlier eras of mid-tempo mustache soul and one-man synthesized ensembles, this is a slow boogie burner to ride to.

IN A HOLE / CAN T FEEL MY KNEES
12 Inch 10.05.11
in fact, >in a hole<, the a-side of their latest 12 inch, is even more dream-steeped than its predecessors. relying on vintage (and in some cases, home made) gear, simon and tsai have constructed a song that is syrupy in pace. darkened tones mingle with floating percussion and vocals processed to nearly melancholic depths. >cant feel my knees< picks up the tempo, and feels slightly sunnier in comparison (>perhaps a result of practicing for the first time in a place with windows<, according to simon), with rippling keys that give way to an open, spacious sigh and an almost playful interlude of warmth and bass punctuations. the two have said theyre interested in the meeting point of house and noise, and thats particularly apparent on the two remixes that appear here. >in a hole dub< is slower, more bare-boned and ghostlier than the track from which its derived, while >cant feel my knees dub< is filled with white noise emissions and hissing electro shocks.

300 copies, vinyl only, authentic, raw, underground. the second offering from laak on their austere imprint is another defined four tracker. >back of beyond< kicks things off, a sincere heads down jam combining latin percussion elements with a killer bass line and warm chords. the second track, >dont ever leave< is a heartfelt lament on the feeling of loss, slowing the tempo down, this one is deep! on the flip, >cosmic causeway< offers something a little different although keeping with the warm pads, this time the use of a spaced out trumpet keeps things flowing. the remaining track >cantankerous emotions< is a little different as regards to the beats, but loses none of the soul and profoundness of the other tracks. only for the underground soldiers!

7 DAYS
12 Inch 02.05.11
damian and clement of dop fame return to circus company with a new project of dubbed out late night madness featuring vocalist brian brewster. far more sinister then dops recent output, 7 days features 4 tracks which explore am acidic realm of dark ruminations and swamp dredged rhythms. >introduction< aquarius starts things off with a basic channel-esque wash of chords, noise and spoken word sure to appeal to fans of berlins longstanding dub techno tradition. >so low< comes off like a chopped and screwed take on italo heard only through the mixers effect sends, where modulating analog sequences and a thundering motorik back beat desperately swim to the surface of a blackened ocean gasping for air. >before u go< lightens the proceedings ever so slightly, upping the tempo and allowing the undulating synths lines to sparkle in the periphery, while the incessant vocal encourages all self-respecting punters to stay on the floor until the last track has passed ! its final groove. finally >universe< comes off like a lost out take from kool keiths dr octagon project with its classic jacking electro beat and sultry effected vocals.

IN SITU EP
12 Inch 02.05.11
in a time where we have seen a full through back to the sound of the 90s where almost every new record sounds exactly like it was made back in the day. its so refreshing to have producers like martin tc around. hailing from montevideo uruguay, former member of the now defunct monoblock project martin tc proves again that its all about the cutting edge of modern funkyness. delivering a ultra funky, jazz injected techno bomb of an ep. we are proud to present martin tcs first solo project and most definitely not his last. in situ on side a is an exploration in chicago style jack combined with a keen sense latin groove and definitely is the money ticket, a sure shot bomb, a burner, a floor filler, a wmd, explosive, techno poetry in motion if i do say so side b continues with the funkyness of bukle but takes in further into a more challenging up tempo realm that can go either way in a house or techno set. al fin y al cabo and vice versa are an excellent reminder that techno jazz is still here and that the swing will never die.
